The Mughal Garden of Rashtrapati Bhavan will now be called Amrit Udyan

The President will inaugurate the garden festival on January 29, common people will also be able to see

The name of the Mughal Garden of Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi has been changed on Saturday. Now it will be known as 'Amrit Udyan'. It is opened to the general public every year in the spring season. The President will inaugurate the Udyan Utsav on January 29. 'Amrit Udyan' will be opened for the general public on January 31 and people will be able to roam here till March 26. Like every year, this time also 5 to 6 lakh people are expected to come.

It was opened for the public for the first time by the first President of the country, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Here one can get a glimpse of both British and Mughal gardens. It was designed by the architect Edwin Lutyens who built the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

QR code will be installed near every plant

President's Deputy Press Secretary Navika Gupta said that many changes have also been made for the convenience of the people visiting the Mughal Gardens. QR code will be installed near all the plants. If anyone scans it, he will get all the information related to the plant. Along with this, 20 professionals will be deployed, who will give information about the garden to the people.

138 types of roses in the garden spread over 15 acres

Amrit Udyan is spread over 15 acres. The Garden is considered to be the soul of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. It has 138 types of roses, more than 10,000 tulip bulbs and about 5,000 seasonal flowers of 70 different species.
