7 जानेवारी, शनिवारपासून माघ महिना सुरू झाला आहे.

जो 5 फेब्रुवारी, रविवारपर्यंत राहणार आहे. या महिन्याचा स्वामी माधव आहे. हे फक्त भगवान विष्णू आणि कृष्णाचे नाव आहे. या महिन्यात सहस्रांशू नावाच्या सूर्याची पूजा करण्याची पद्धत अग्नि पुराणात सांगितली आहे. माघ महिन्यात भगवान विष्णू, कृष्ण आणि सूर्य यांची पूजा करण्याची परंपरा आहे. असे केल्याने जाणूनबुजून किंवा नकळत केलेली पापे संपतात. म्हणूनच माघ महिन्याला पाप नष्ट करणारा आणि पुण्य देणारा महिना म्हटले गेले आहे. पुरीचे ज्योतिषाचार्य डॉ. गणेश मिश्रा सांगतात की, या पवित्र महिन्यात स्नान करणे खूप महत्त्वाचे आहे. म्हणजे माघ महिन्यात पवित्र नद्यांच्या पाण्याने स्नान करावे. जर तुम्ही हे करू शकत नसाल तर गंगाजल किंवा कोणत्याही पवित्र नदीच्या पाण्याचे काही थेंब टाकून घरी स्नान केल्याने तीर्थस्नानाइतकेच पुण्य मिळते.

माघ स्नानाचे महत्व पद्म पुराणात माघ महिन्याचे महत्त्व सांगताना सांगितले आहे की या महिन्यात स्नान केल्याने भगवान विष्णू प्रसन्न होतात आणि सर्व पापांपासून मुक्ती मिळते. या महिन्यात स्नान केल्याने हजारो अश्वमेध यज्ञ करण्यासारखे पुण्य प्राप्त होते. दुसरीकडे, माघ महिन्यात प्रयागराजच्या संगमात स्नान केल्याने अनंत पुण्य मिळते. शुभेच्छा आणि तारणाचा महिना काशी विद्वत परिषदेचे सरचिटणीस प्रा. रामनारायण द्विवेदी म्हणतात की माघ महिन्यात दररोज प्रयाग संगम येथे स्नान केल्याने सुख, सौभाग्य, संपत्ती आणि संतान प्राप्त होते आणि मृत्यूनंतर मोक्ष देखील प्राप्त होतो. तुम्हाला भगवान विष्णूंचा निवास मिळेल. संपूर्ण माघ महिन्यात प्रयागराजच्या संगमात स्नान केल्याने अनेक यज्ञ करण्याइतके पुण्य मिळते. यासोबतच माघ महिन्यात तीर्थस्नान केल्याने सोने, भूमी आणि गाय दान केल्याचे पुण्य प्राप्त होते.

There is a tradition of worshiping Lord Vishnu, Krishna and Surya in the month of Magh. By doing this, the sins committed knowingly or unknowingly end. That's why the month of Magh has been called the month of eliminating sin and giving virtue.

Jyotishacharya of Puri, Dr. Ganesh Mishra explains that bathing is very important in this holy month. Means one should bathe with the water of holy rivers in Magh. If you are not able to do this, then taking a bath at home by adding a few drops of Ganga water or water of any holy river gives you as much virtue as taking a pilgrimage bath.

Importance of Magh Snan

Describing the importance of Magh month in Padma Purana, it is said that by taking a bath in this month, Lord Vishnu is pleased and gets rid of all sins. Bathing in this month gives merit equal to performing thousands of Ashwamedha Yagya. On the other hand, taking a bath in the Sangam of Prayagraj during the month of Magh gives unending virtue.

Kashi Vidwat Parishad General Secretary Prof. Ramnarayan Dwivedi says that bathing at Prayag Sangam every day in the month of Magh brings happiness, good luck, wealth and progeny and also attains salvation after death. You get the abode of Lord Vishnu.
