Chhattisgarh Result: Deputy CM TS Singhdev lost, could not score a win from Ambikapur

If we talk about the caste equation of Ambikapur, then about 50 percent population here is of ST category. Oraon, Kanwar and Gond communities dominate here. In the year 2018, there were a total of 2 lakh 25 thousand 830 voters here. Ambikapur assembly seat is unreserved, but even today rural and tribal voters play the most important role in victory and defeat.

Elections were held on 90 assembly seats of Chhattisgarh. In this, BJP has surprised everyone with its excellent performance in Chhattisgarh elections. Many Congress stalwarts have not been able to save their seats. Ambikapur assembly seat of Surguja region was considered to be very high profile. The reason for this was that a strong Congress leader and Deputy CM in the current government, TS Singh Deo, was contesting the elections from here. However, he had to face defeat by 157 votes.

In the 2018 Chhattisgarh Assembly elections, T S Baba of INC won in this seat defeating Anurag Singh Deo of BJP by a margin of 39,624 which was 22.17% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 56.19% in 2018 in this seat.
