New Delhi, Feb 20: The Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) has launched Round 2 of its pilot phase, offering over 1 lakh internship opportunities in leading companies across 730+ districts in India. This follows the overwhelming response in Round 1, which saw more than 6 lakh applications from aspiring candidates.

Internship Opportunities Across Key Sectors

More than 300 top companies from diverse industries—including Oil & Gas, Banking & Financial Services, Travel & Hospitality, Automotive, Manufacturing, FMCG, and more—are participating in this initiative. The program aims to provide young individuals with practical industry exposure, networking opportunities, and enhanced employability.

Application Process & Eligibility

  • Who Can Apply?

    • Individuals aged 21 to 24 years

    • Must not be enrolled in full-time education or employment

  • Selection Criteria:

    • Candidates can apply for up to 3 internships based on location, sector, and area of interest.

    • Applications can be filtered within a customizable radius from the applicant’s current address.

  • How to Apply?

Financial Assistance & Benefits

  • Monthly stipend of ₹5,000

  • One-time financial assistance of ₹6,000

  • Internships last for 12 months, including 6 months of training and professional experience

Awareness & Outreach Efforts

To ensure maximum participation, 70+ IEC events are being conducted in colleges, universities, ITIs, and Rozgar Melas across districts with the highest internship opportunities. Additionally, national-level digital campaigns are reaching youth through various platforms and influencer collaborations.

Led by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, PMIS aims to empower India's youth by providing real-world industry exposure and helping them launch their careers in top organizations.
