अधिकारियों ने शुक्रवार को यहां यह जानकारी दी। मोनार्क यूनिवर्सल ग्रुप के निदेशक गोपाल अमरलाल ठाकुर को गुरुवार को गिरफ्तार कर विशेष पीएमएलए कोर्ट में पेश किया गया, जिसने उन्हें 8 जुलाई तक ईडी की हिरासत में भेज दिया। ईडी की जांच तब हुई जब महाराष्ट्र पुलिस ने ठाकुर और एमयूजी के खिलाफ फ्लैट खरीदारों को कथित रूप से धोखा देने और ठगने का मामला दर्ज किया था। जांच के अनुसार, बिल्डर ने फ्लैट खरीदारों से पैसे एकत्र किए, लेकिन लंबे समय बीत जाने के बावजूद उनके नाम पर इसे दर्ज नहीं किया। बाद में, यह पता चला कि कंपनी ने एक ही फ्लैट को कई खरीदारों को उनकी जानकारी के बिना बेच दिया था। यह भी सामने आया कि कंपनी ने इन फ्लैटों को गिरवी रख दिया और मूल फ्लैट खरीदारों की जानकारी के बिना एनबीएफसी से ऋण लिया, जिसके बाद एमयूजी ने परियोजना से धन को विभिन्न अन्य व्यक्तियों/संस्थाओं को स्थानांतरित कर दिया। घोटाले में अन्य लोगों की संलिप्तता के अलावा धन के निशान और अपराध की आय को ट्रैक करने के लिए एक जांच चल रही है।

As per the investigation, the builder collected money from the flat buyers, but did not register it in their name even after a long time elapsed. Later, it was revealed that the company had sold the same flat to multiple buyers without their knowledge. It also emerged that the company mortgaged these flats and took loans from NBFCs without the knowledge of the original flat buyers, following which MUG transferred the funds from the project to various other individuals/entities.
