Appointment of new commissioner of Mumbai Municipal Corporation

The Central Election Commission had ordered the state government to remove the existing commissioners of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation. Accordingly, Iqbal Singh Chahal has been removed from the post of Commissioner of Mumbai Municipal Corporation. After this, the state government has appointed Bhushan Gagrani as the commissioner. Bhushan Gagrani is a 1990 batch IAS officer. Earlier, he was also appointed as Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He was also responsible for the departments of Urban Development, Water Resources and Marathi Language.

Amit Saini has accepted the charge of Additional Municipal Commissioner

As Additional Municipal Commissioner (Eastern Suburbs) of Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Dr. Amit Saini assumed charge today (March 20, 2024) morning. Additional Municipal Commissioner (Eastern Suburbs) Ashwini Bhide from Dr. Saini accepted this charge. On behalf of Mumbai Municipal Corporation administration, Joint Commissioner (General Administration) Milin Sawant Dr. Saini was welcomed. Newly appointed Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects) Abhijit Bangar, Deputy Commissioner (Education) Chanda Jadhav, Deputy Commissioner (Special Engineering) Chakradhar Kandalkar, Chief Personnel Officer Smt. Rima Dhekane and various officials were present on the occasion.
