In a significant breach of examination integrity, a dummy candidate was apprehended during the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Physics examination at Om Sai Junior College in Nalasopara, Maharashtra. This incident, marking the first reported case of malpractice in the Mumbai division for the ongoing HSC exams, was uncovered during a surprise inspection by the Maharashtra State Board's anti-copying flying squad. The squad's routine hall ticket verification revealed discrepancies, leading to the identification of the impersonator. Following the discovery, an FIR was promptly lodged at Pelhar police station, as per the board's directives. This event underscores the challenges faced in ensuring fair examination practices, despite the state's 'copy-free exam' initiative aimed at curbing such malpractices.
