Union Minister of Jal Shakti, CR Paatil, lauded the Uttar Pradesh government's arrangements at the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, emphasizing that only India could orchestrate such a massive event. During his visit, Paatil highlighted the cleanliness and organization of the event, noting the absence of garbage and the participation of international devotees. He attributed the improved state of the Ganges to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Namami Gange Programme, which prioritizes the river's cleanliness.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, which commenced on January 13 and will conclude on February 26, has witnessed an unprecedented turnout. According to the Uttar Pradesh government, over 500 million devotees have taken a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam so far, with expectations that this number will surpass 600 million by the event's end.

In addition to Paatil's commendation, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal described the facilities at the Maha Kumbh as "excellent." He emphasized the event's role in promoting unity, citing the massive gatherings at the Triveni Ghats as a testament to India's cultural cohesion.

The Uttar Pradesh government has undertaken significant measures to enhance the experience for pilgrims. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently inaugurated 100 new buses to improve transportation facilities for devotees attending the Maha Kumbh.

The Ministry of Jal Shakti, established in May 2019, has been instrumental in initiatives like the Namami Gange Programme, aiming to rejuvenate and preserve India's vital water resources.

The collective efforts of the central and state governments have been pivotal in ensuring the success of the Maha Kumbh Mela, reflecting India's capability to manage events of such magnitude with efficiency and grace.
