On Sunday, Sharad Pawar's nephew Ajit Pawar rebelled against the party and decided to go with the BJP. Within minutes of the mutiny, he reached the Raj Bhavan and took oath as Deputy Chief Minister in the Maharashtra government. Along with Ajit Pawar, 8 other MLAs also took oath as ministers. After taking the oath, Ajit Pawar had claimed that there is no division in the NCP, the entire party has come together in support of the BJP government. On the other hand, NCP has also taken action against its leaders. On Monday, the party showed the way out to three leaders. It is alleged that all three had attended the swearing-in ceremony of Ajit Pawar. The NCP has expelled Mumbai division chief Narendra Rathod, Akola city district chief Vijay Deshmukh and state minister Shivaji Garje from the party.
