ज्योती क्रांती परिषदेतर्फे या मोर्चाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले आहे. संस्थेचे संस्थापक रमेश बारस्कर म्हणाले की, अनेक लोक या मोर्चाची खिल्ली उडवत आहेत, पण सत्य हे आहे की, महाराष्ट्रात स्त्री-पुरुषांचे प्रमाण कमी असल्यामुळे अनेक पात्र मुलांना वधू मिळू शकत नाहीत.

स्त्री भ्रूणहत्या रोखण्यात सरकार अपयशी ठरल्यामुळेच मुलगा-मुली यांच्यातील एवढ्या मोठ्या अंतराला सरकार जबाबदार असल्याचा दावा बारस्कर यांनी केला. महाराष्ट्रात 1000 मुलांमागे 889 मुलींचे लिंग गुणोत्तर आहे. ही विषमता स्त्री भ्रूणहत्येमुळे आहे आणि या विषमतेला सरकार जबाबदार आहे.
