Chhattisgarh Naxal Encounter: Major action by security forces in Kanker, Chhattisgarh, 29 Naxalites killed
The killed Naxalites also include their commander Shankar Rao with a reward of Rs 25 lakh and Lalita with a reward of Rs 25 lakh. Apart from this, Naxalite commander Raju of Maad area has also been killed. BSF Inspector Ramesh Chandra Chaudhary was shot in the leg in retaliation by Naxalites. Two DRG soldiers were also injured. All three have been airlifted to Raipur.
On Tuesday, 29 Naxalites were killed in a joint action by BSF and DRG in Chhotabethiya police station area of the district.

Naxalites were in a relaxed mood
Inspector Laxman Kevat, an enemy of the Maoists, said they were in a relaxed mood. Kevat has killed 44 people and has six gallantry medals in his name. He is also the leader of this operation. That is the time for Maoists.
Firing lasted for four hours
This was followed by a fierce gunbattle for four hours, when the sun was shining on the hills of Binagunda area of Kanker and then it set. When the guns fell silent, 29 Maoists were lying dead among the dry leaves on the forest floor. Three of them were senior commanders. Fifteen (51%) were women. This is the largest number of Maoists killed in any encounter in Bastar. Police have not yet been able to identify all the dead Maoists. He says that it will take time to conduct post-mortem of so many dead bodies.
The second biggest encounter took place in Gadchiroli
It is noteworthy that this is the biggest encounter of the country so far. Earlier in November 2021, C-60 soldiers of Maharashtra had killed 27 Naxalites in an encounter in the forest of Manpur Mohalla on the border of Chhattisgarh Maharashtra and Mardentola and Hidkotola hills on the border of Gadchiroli. In this encounter, 27 Naxalites including the top leadership of Naxalites i.e. Central Committee member Deepak Teltumde were killed. Deepak was made in-charge of the MMC zone of Naxalites i.e. Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh zone. After this encounter, the expansion platoon of Naxalites was completely weakened.
