
Bengaluru has been graded the "Most Liveable City" in India bagging the First place in 'Ease of Living Index' List.
Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Surat, Navi Mumbai, Coimbatore, Vadodra, Indore and Greater Mumbai are the other cities in order of ranking. While Delhi figures in the 13th spot and Srinagar at the bottom.
Of the 49 cities ranked on livability index in the " Million-Plus Population" category, Navi Mumbai is at 6th position, Pune grab the 2nd position, Greater Mumbai is at 10th position. 11 cities are listed from Maharashtra ranked under "Million Plus Population.'
According to the index released by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Shimla ranked top in the category of cities with a "Population Less Than Million".
In this same category, Bhubaneshwar was listed second, Silvassa on third position, followed by Kakinada, Salem, Vellore, Gandhinagar, Gurgaon, Davangere and Tiruchirapalli.
Muzaffarpur figured at the bottom of the livability index for 62 cities in the "less than a million" people category.
Under the "Municipal Performance Index" in the "Less Than a Million" population category New Delhi Municipal Council ranked Top. The rest are Tirupati, Gandhinagar, Karnal, Salem, Tiruppur, Bilaspur, Udaipur, Jhansi and Tirunelveli.
In the "Municipal Performance Index" under " Million-Plus Population" category, Indore topped.
In this category, Surat came second, followed by Bhopal, Pimpri Chinchawad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Raipur, Greater Mumbai, Visakhapatnam and Vadodara.
