Grand Finale of National School Band Competition 6.0 to be Held at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi on 24-25 January

The Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence is going to organise the grand finale of National School Band Competition 6.0 on 24-25 January 2025 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi. This year 16 band teams from 13 States with 463 children have been shortlisted for the finale (list annexed) through State- and Zonal-level competitions.

National School Band Competition 6.0 Grand Finale

The Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Ministry of Defence, will host the grand finale of the National School Band Competition 6.0 on January 24-25, 2025, at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi.

Key Highlights:

  • Participation: 16 band teams from 13 States, comprising 463 children, have been selected for the finale through rigorous State and Zonal-level competitions.

  • First-Time Achievements:

    • Three government school band teams will participate in the Republic Day Parade.

    • PM SHRI KGBV Patamda, Purbi Singhbum, Jharkhand, will perform at the rostrum in front of the Presidential stage.

    • Two band teams (Kendriya Vidyalaya and Government Sr. Sec. School West Point, Sikkim) will perform at Vijay Chowk during the Republic Day Parade.

  • "Whole of Government Approach": Band instructors/teams from Army Regimental Centers are training PM SHRI school band teams in 11 States/UTs, with training soon to commence in the remaining States/UTs. This initiative aims to provide holistic education and develop well-rounded personalities in PM SHRI school students.
