
Bijapur/Kanker, March 20: In a major anti-Maoist operation, security forces eliminated 22 Maoists in separate encounters in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur and Kanker districts. One security personnel also lost his life in the action.
According to officials, the encounters took place during an ongoing search operation in the Maoist-affected regions. Acting on intelligence inputs, security forces engaged with armed rebels, leading to intense gunfights. Several weapons and explosives were recovered from the sites.
The operation is part of the state’s continued efforts to curb Maoist activities in the region. Further search operations are underway.
