Smith's ODI tenure includes pivotal roles in Australia's World Cup victories in 2015 and 202 ... . Notably, he scored a century in the 2015 semi-final against India and hit the winning runs in the final against New Zealand. His highest ODI score of 164 came against New Zealand at the Sydney Cricket Ground in 2016.

While retiring from ODIs, Smith remains committed to Test cricket and is available for T20 Internationals. He expressed enthusiasm for upcoming Test series, including the World Test Championship Final, tours against the West Indies, and home series against England.
