Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray has addressed recent allegations linking him to the 2020 death of Disha Salian, the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Responding to these claims, Thackeray stated that attempts to tarnish his reputation have been ongoing for the past five years and that he will address these allegations in court.
These developments follow a petition filed by Disha Salian's father, Satish Salian, in the Bombay High Court. The petition seeks a fresh investigation into the circumstances surrounding his daughter's death, alleging that she was raped and murdered, and that there was a politically orchestrated cover-up to protect influential individuals. The plea also demands the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against Aaditya Thackeray and the transfer of the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020, after reportedly falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Mumbai's Malad suburb. The Mumbai Police initially registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR). Six days later, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra apartment, a case that was ruled a suicide.
In response to the petition, Thackeray emphasized his intention to present his side in court, dismissing the allegations as attempts to malign his image.
The Bombay High Court is expected to review the petition and determine the course of action regarding the investigation into Disha Salian's death.
