In Pune's Kothrud area, a 33-year-old man named Devendra Jog, employed in the office of Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol, was assaulted by members of the Gajanan Marne gang. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening in Bhelkenagar. Jog manages social media campaigns for Minister Mohol's office. Following the attack, Minister Mohol contacted Jog via video call to inquire about his condition.

The assault reportedly stemmed from a road rage incident. Jog was riding his bike when he was cut off by another vehicle, leading to a verbal altercation. Subsequently, four individuals associated with the Gajanan Marne gang attacked him. Police have arrested three of the four suspects; the fourth, identified as Baburao alias Babu Pawar, the nephew of Gajanan Marne, remains at large.

The Gajanan Marne gang is notorious in Pune for its involvement in land deals and financial disputes. The gang has a history of violent confrontations, often linked to supremacy battles over money and territory.

This incident has raised concerns about law and order in Pune, highlighting the ongoing challenges posed by organized crime in the region.
